Who are we?

The Budgie Birds is an indie game development group founded in 2017. Based in Minnesota, we believe that games are not just a consumer product, but an art to be shared and enjoyed. Our games are always free for easy access so that they may be enjoyed by all.

What's with the name?

When we were creating the audio for our first game, World Keep-Away for Ludum Dare 38, our only tools available at the time were a piano and a microphone. As we were recording, the pet parakeets next to us began chirping with the music. With mere hours from our deadline, we had no time for a redo and kept the birds' song with the piano. Receiving much feedback in the form of amusement from our feathered friends, we decided to name our team in their honor, and so The Budgie Birds was born.
